There are still thousands of service members who have not yet returned home and will not for many more months. Their jobs of peace-keeping and humanitarian work very often puts their lives in great danger. Helping to rebuild a country whose people have suffered under an extremist regime for 30 years is no easy task and will take time, effort, patience, and understanding. While the majority of Iraqi citizens are grateful for the American presence in their country and see them as liberators, there are still a few who are opposed. That opposition makes our military's job very dangerous and unfortunately, lives are still being lost.
