Bring them home soon!

"Love from Texas", a care package project, is sponsored by DFW Marine Corps Families, a non profit organization dedicated to providing friendship, support, and encouragement to Marines and their families.

We encourage individuals, groups, and businesses to continue a show of support to our military men and women whose service to our country continues on a daily basis. During times of war it is very easy for us to show our patriotism by flying our flags and supporting our troops, but our support should not end just because major combat has. There are still thousands of service members who have not yet returned home and will not for many more months. Their jobs of peace-keeping and humanitarian work very often puts their lives in great danger. Helping to rebuild a country whose people have suffered under an extremist regime for 30 years is no easy task and will take time, effort, patience, and understanding. While the majority of Iraqi citizens are grateful for the American presence in their country and see them as liberators, there are still a few who are opposed. That opposition makes our military's job very dangerous and unfortunately, lives are still being lost.

The media coverage of these continuing efforts is not as prominent as it was during the height of the war, which is why we must make every effort to see that Americans do not forget the daily sacrifices our troops are making on behalf of our country and a country whose people deserve to know the same freedoms and securities that we enjoy here in America.

              By making a donation to
"Love from Texas" you can show our military men and women that you have not forgotten them - that you support their efforts in times of war and in peace. Receiving a "gift" from home can make all the difference in the world; just read our letters of thanks for proof of that! The items we include in care packages are certainly nothing glamorous, just the basic essentials and a few favorite snacks to remind them of home, but the sentiment conveyed is priceless. Any amount you can donate will help enormously and will certainly bring a smile and debt of gratitude from those who receive it. Cash donations to help with shipping costs are greatly appreciated. The average cost to send one care package containing snacks, toiletries, and your letters of encouragement is $1.70 per pound or $19.00 per box. The continued success of this care package project is only possible through your dedication and continued efforts. So let's keep our military men and women in our thoughts and prayers until they all return home safely to their families and loved ones.
